Greetings, 

Welcome to my johncarter111.com, my electronic soapbox forum online; home of as I affectionately call it: personal creative expression, networking, and occasionally a rant or two
(or three or four!) This is where I verbally express what makes me……well me (Creatively speaking of course). The nature of this section of my site is not necessarily design related but still committed to many interesting resources, events, other artists and work I am fond of, opinions and pretty much anything of interest that I can reasonably place under the umbrella of creative expression here.

I’d like to describe myself as an artist with an interesting mix of serious work ethic, community mindedness and creativity derived from a childhood of drawing, daydreaming and too many cartoons.  These habits led me from drawing the Art Instructions School turtle in the TV Guide, to drawing other folks’ comic book characters to college studies in and Art Education, Graphic Design, and Communication/Multimedia; and freelance Graphic Designer work since 1997.

I have a great deal of skill in print design, and have done my best work with logo design. In recent years have been much more active doing web page layout/design. Before it is all over I will have (among other things…..) offered a distinctive vocal talent to an incredibly popular cartoon series, created and guided the adventures of a character through his comic book series and eventually his own cartoon show, provided logo, screen-print, web and print advertising concepts for pretty much every reputable business venture whose aims and objective don’t offend or run counter to my convictions; all while still having my annual vacation with the family. Needless to say I am behind schedule, so I need exposure………….
